MICRO SCLEROTHERAPY

Thread veins are fine red, blue or purple veins that can be seen just under the skin on the legs. 

By injecting a small amount of solution in the vein we can cause the walls of the vein to shrink. This prevents blood following through them, which makes them appear less visible. With a short series of treatments (usually 2-5) the veins will collapse and disappear.

AM I SUITABLE FOR TREATMENT?

In order to assess suitability Dr Emma will discuss your concerns and perform an assessment during the consultation. At this point she will also review your medical history to check there are no contraindications to treatment. You may not have micro sclerotherapy if you are pregnant, breastfeeding, or on any blood thinning medication. 


WHAT TYPE OF RESULTS CAN I EXPECT?

The results that we achieve are patient dependent, and it make take a few sessions to achieve optimal results. 

IS THERE ANY DOWNTIME FOLLOWING TREATMENT?


Slight bruising and inflammation may occur from the treatment. You will be required to wear compression stockings post procedure. You will not be able to go on long haul flights for 4 weeks after treatment. 


HOW PAINFUL IS THE TREATMENT?


Many people describe the treatment as a ‘mild sting,’ and find it very comfortable. We use the smallest needles available to make the process as painless as possible. 


DO I NEED TO FOLLOW ANY AFTERCARE?

A detailed aftercare leaflet will be emailed to you post treatment.
